Beat detections algorithm can detect beats and sounds from an audio source in Realtime. It uses frequency spectrum analysis and audio energy to listen to the sound.
This script is perfect for having reactive sound in your game. Simple and easy to use just connect the script with the audio source and chose detection mode. There are a few detection modes to choose from:
– Energy Mode: This mode will detect the beats analysing the music volume changes. When a beat is detected a ‘energy’ code is returned.
-Frequency mode: This mode uses spectrum analysis and can detect three different beats, low (kick), medium (snare) and high (hit hat) beats.
-Both: Using both methods you can get a complete control on the beats of your music.
The Beat Detection code is of High performance and thus can be used on mobile devices. You can even use several scripts simultaneously to control many audio sources. It’s just down to how elaborate or complicated you want your audio scene to be. Please note Full source C# code is included in this unity package.
